Abstract
This article presents a reflection on the teaching of two indigenous dances from the Terena ethnic group at the Marcolino Lili School, situated in Lagoinha village, Mato Grosso do Sul. Thus, the teaching and learning of indigenous dances in the school environment is revisited beyond April 19, the date on which it was established as the day of indigenous peoples in the official calendar of Brazil. To this end, some characteristics of the Kipâe Dance - Dance of the Ema and the Siputerena Dance - Dance of the Women are presented, also as a way of valuing indigenous culture at school and as a means of recovering socio-cultural values that favor both the development of the human being with his own identity, with his peers, and with his social environment.
